Job Details

Dow Jones Newswires is seeking a digitally proficient financial journalist to cover Malaysia.

You will be responsible for sending headlines and writing fast stories and updates on the most important news of the day for our audience of financial professionals.

You will also be expected to chase and break market-moving news in Malaysia, as well as provide real-time coverage of stock markets around Asia with a close eye on big moves in individual stocks and the factors that are driving them.

In addition to those duties, you will cover the local end of big stories including the 1MDB scandal and the related legal fallout for The WallStreet Journal.

You must be fluent in Malay, have near-native command of English, be able to identify the most important elements of major news releases, and have the skill to send fast, accurate copy under tight deadlines.

You also must have a strong sense of urgency, excellent communication skills and an understanding of how to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment. A background in corporate or markets coverage would be a plus.

You will report to the Editor, Real Time News.

We offer the opportunity to work for one of the world's leading financial and business news companies. We invite interested candidates to click 'APPLY' and submit a cover letter and detailed resume and 3-5 samples of your work.
