Dealreporter, an Acuris owned company, is looking for an Analyst to join our London based team that produces the Morning Flash, a daily newsletter read by many of the world's top fund managers, investment banks and law firms.

The Morning Flash analyst will be responsible for providing a steady flow of forward-looking ideas from the risk-arbitrage, activist and special situations universe for publication in the morning Flash.

The analyst will be responsible for combing through detailed filings, data, news reports to produce forward looking ideas for consideration in the Morning Flash.

The analyst will be responsible for working with journalists to flesh out their ideas in articles on a case by case basis as they are picked up. This will require qualitative research.

The ideas from the Flash will be central to the journalists’ pre-event workflow.

Responsibilities:

• A flow of original ideas on a daily basis
• Combing through filings, news articles, company reports to ensure team is on top of market news
• Fleshing out ideas through qualitative research with journalists

Skills & Requirements:

• Experience with hedge fund strategies, such as Risk Arbitrage, Activism, special situations
• Ability to scan through filings, news, company reports and rumours to generate original forward-looking ideas for Acuris’ subscriber base
• Good writing and analytical skills to develop original content in a clear and engaging manner
• Proven capacity to produce high quality / original trading idea generation
• Ability to flesh out an idea and explain complex financial data to journalists
• Background in corporate finance, law or journalism
