We are looking to hire a Journalist to be either based in London and to work closley with the New York office so travel will be required to the US from time to time.

Job Description:

The financial crisis has changed the way banks and markets are regulated – often in ways that escape wide attention, sometimes in ways no-one expected.

The US markets are at the forefront of these seismic changes. Risk.net covers these events earlier – and in more depth – than any other publication.

In order to maintain our leading edge, the publication is seeking to expand its US presence, to be closer to the policy-makers who are rewriting the rules, and to the companies that will be affected by them.

Our senior staff writer for the Americas will be expected to dig up exclusive news stories for both online and print, as well as write in-depth features.

The job involves interviewing top-level bankers and regulators in the US, with some travel required to regional conferences.

Qualifications:

We are looking for an experienced financial journalist to write news and features for Risk.net, many of which will also be included in the monthly print editions of Risk magazine.

Previous experience of writing on the G20, Basel Committee and US financial policy-making processes would be helpful, but the most important qualities are an enthusiasm for the topic, an eye for detail, and the ability to turn technical topics into highly readable copy.

What we're looking for:

Degree level qualifications useful but not essential. Demonstration of enthusiasm for journalism and the subject matter are the key qualifications.
