Factal is expanding its London office, and we’re looking for a new editor to add to our team.

Ideally we’re looking to hire a journalist with more than three years of reporting or newsroom experience.

You’ll need to have sound news judgment, an ability to get to the point when writing, and an understanding of what’s happening in the world at any given moment.

We need editors who can work independently, or as part of a team.

Strong communication skills are essential as you'll often be working alongside people based in different locations, checking details with them as news breaks.

A normal day for us involves handling global news events like wildfires, shootings, explosions and floods. You'll need a strong understanding of the basic principles of chasing down a story in order to deal with these.

Our work is fast-paced and has to be correct, so the job involves some pressure.

Fluency in a second language is strongly preferred.

This role will involve weekend shifts.
