Purpose of role:

Ensure the Sun’s TV coverage makes us the go-to destination for fans of drama, soaps and streaming services. You’ll plan coverage around shows aimed at fans of those shows and drive the news agenda.

Key accountabilities:

• Planning and managing the Sun’s digital coverage of TV.
• Prioritising shows and deciding how to approach each series or episode - from previews to live blogs, reaction, theories, spoilers and features.
• Commissioning and editing content from a team of writers and use of a freelance budget.
• Work with the social and SEO team to maximise traffic. An ability to enact a SEO publishing strategy is essential.
• Work with graphics, pictures, video and interactive teams to bring our TV content to life visually and digitally on mobile.
• Due to the nature of TV, evening and some weekend work will be required on a rota.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Outstanding writing and editing skills for a digital audience
• An expert knowledge of TV - especially for The Sun audience.
• Relevant experience at a large publisher.
• Unflappable under pressure and ability to deliver work at a consistently high standard.
• Pro-active and processing a willingness to take on any task.
• Positive attitude and good team player.
• Takes initiative in order to achieve desired results.
• Self-starter, organised and a good problem-solver, able to eliminate obstacles through creative  and adaptive approaches.
• Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Can demonstrate an understanding of the The Sun brand, both print and digital.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns across 7 days.
