FlightGlobal, Air Transport Reporter

FlightGlobal, the publishing and events division of Cirium, is seeking an air transport reporter.

Based at an office location in the City of London, the reporter will be tasked with writing news and analysis that is suitable for Cirium’s premium Dashboard service and for FlightGlobal’s website, magazines Flight International and Airline Business, and the daily newspapers we produce at major industry events.

The role involves in-depth coverage of airlines in the EMEA region, reporting on fleet and network strategies, financial performance, and financing decisions.

As an ability to decipher complex financial statements is essential, a background in business journalism would be advantageous.

The reporter must be capable of working at a routinely high pace to deliver accurate, rounded stories in a timely fashion. Good writing and networking skills will naturally be required, along with a keen eye for detail and creativity in crafting original angles of coverage.

There is also a need for versatility, as assignments may span a broad range of civil aviation subjects, some of them technical.

Experience in data journalism would be beneficial, as the reporter will be able to draw on Cirium’s fleet, schedule, and flight-tracking resources.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• Report on the EMEA airline sector
• Write in-depth analysis on topical themes and major news developments
• Support the work of the editorial team in covering civil aviation more broadly
• Represent FlightGlobal at industry events
• Undertake travel assignments, sometimes at short notice
