Deputy Sports Editor, The Wall Street Journal - NY
The Wall Street Journal is seeking a strong, experienced editor with proven leadership skills who can work with the Global Sports Editor to plan, edit and publish the daily and long-term flow of stories from WSJ Sports.
This editor will be expected to help plot a steady stream of features that capture the unique voice and sensibility of WSJ Sports, while at the same time engaging assertively with breaking sports news, on the field and off.
That means both working with reporters to develop enterprising stories that deviate from the pack, and also deploying reporters creatively when long-running news sagas emerge.
This editor will also assist in planning for major events such as the Olympics and World Cups. A passion for sports and creative approaches to sports journalism are essential.
