Job Details
We’ve got a great story to tell. Our work impacts on the quality of healthcare and millions of people’s lives, protecting patients and improving medical practice and education across the UK by setting the standards for doctors and students.
We’re doing this at a time when doctors and the health service are under more pressure than ever before. It’s an exciting time for the General Medical Council.
This is a great opportunity to act as our voice and tell our story, as we support doctors to meet our standards and take action when they are not met.
We’re looking for a talented communications professional to join our media relations team in the heart of London. You’ll use your experience of communications, public relations and dealing with the press to tell our story.
This challenging role will involve managing national, regional and trade media in reactive and crisis situations, spotting reputational risks and ensuring the organisation is prepared to respond to them.
Demonstrable experience of seeking out newsworthy stories and producing high quality, creative content for a variety of media channels is essential.
Working with a variety of national and trade media on high-profile issues, you’ll raise our profile, improve engagement and manage and enhance our reputation.
Proactive, tenacious and an outstanding communicator, you must be cool under pressure and able to write quickly, clearly and concisely. An influential personality, you should also be able to make the most of social media opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. Within our friendly environment, you will have access to a range of learning and development opportunities designed to support your ongoing progression.
