Job Details

The Wall Street Journal is adding an editor to our U.S. news leadership team.

This editor will have both coverage and managing responsibilities, and will manage the spot news operation. An ability to manage a big breaking story as it unfolds as well as the eye for high-impact features is key for this role.

We will be producing more stories each day for U.S. news but to be clear this is a bureau editing job, not a desk role. The editor needs to love talking ideas with reporters and shaping stories. This role is heavily digitally focused.

The U.S. news bureau chiefs play zone a lot, helping each other when one bureau is busy, and this editor will be a big part of carrying out this strategy. It offers the opportunity to work with a great, collegial and collaborative group of bureau chiefs.
