Job Details

Dow Jones Newswires is seeking an experienced data editor to join our commodities news and data team.

This fast-paced position will handle time-sensitive reports from USDA and other government agencies. Daily responsibilities also include publishing key data from various exchanges, including CBOT, CME, ICE, NYMEX and COMEX.

This role converts a high volume of data into tables for an audience of business professionals and requires a good understanding of financial markets and the needs of traders and investors.

This is a fast-paced environment that requires publishing to a real-time news service, making speed and accuracy essential.

Responsibilities / Skills:

  • Collect and enter a large amount of data and tables from various sources
  • Regularly handle time-sensitive reports
  • Ability to make quick and smart decisions in a fast-paced news environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Visual basic
  • Maintain speed and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to shift priorities when necessary
  • Understanding of financial markets
  • Good interpersonal skills and teamwork ethic
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
