Purpose:

We are looking for a Growth Editor, who will work to support the rapid expansion of the Daily Mail on multiple external platforms, including but not limited to: MSN, Flipboard, Pinterest, Google News, Upday, Apple News etc.

The successful candidate will be a well-rounded character with exceptional news judgement and a strong editorial background.

Prior success growing audiences on external platforms, including social media, is expected, with an understanding of how different audiences react to and engage with different types of content.

Ability to brainstorm, execute and package content is also a must, as well as being able to work both independently and as part of an international team.

Job Content:

  • Have a deep understanding of the platform news economy
  • 3-5 years editorial experience + at least one year of Audience Development, social media, or similar
  • Should have proven ability to grow audiences across multiple platforms and audience sharing arrangements
  • Have a deep understanding of Omniture, demographics and the ability to work against clear data-driven goals
  • Be a great team member with exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • Have writing experience across the News, Entertainment and Lifestyle sectors, and have shown strong news judgement
  • Be adept at managing multiple remote relationships
  • Be available to work weekends as required
  • Have experience working in a global / large-scale media brand
  • Technical experience managing RSS feed delivery and the ability to clearly understand and communicate technical issues as required is preferred but not essential
  • Have a passionate love of the media industry and a track record for getting things done
