Are you an experienced journalist with a background in legal publishing? Do you have strong leadership skills and are you looking to step into a manager position? We are looking for a Deputy Editor to manage the London team of an award-winning legal publisher. This is a very exciting time to join this fast-growing company and this a unique opportunity for an accomplished journalist looking for a role with a lot of potential for growth.

Key duties:

  • Lead and manage a team of journalists producing daily news stories and newsletters
  • Write complex stories and in-depth features and edit work of others
  • Assist in setting editorial agenda for long-form pieces
  • Contribute to brand’s content strategy and help to run annual editorial projects
  • Act as a brand ambassador in Europe, travelling to conference and building contacts network

Experience / skills required:

  • Solid reporting experience within legal publishing ideally or a B2B niche title
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Line-management would be a bonus, otherwise mentoring experience is required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to juggle priorities to meet daily or annual deadlines
  • A collaborative and hands-on approach to work with strong inspirational qualities
