Become a member of the market leading Dow Jones team, where you will work alongside business stakeholders, product owners, and developers to build highly interactive, dynamic and data driven applications for Dow Jones.

Developers will be responsible for new product development, customizations, and enhancements and will work closely with cross-functional staff to deliver against project goals.

Dow Jones Video team is a team that is responsible for designing, building and maintaining the video and audio publishing and delivery systems across all of Dow Jones.

The CMS, API, and bespoke players are used daily by Dow Jones newsrooms around the world to support brands such as The Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch, Barron's, Mansion Global, and Moneyish.

The team operates across a variety of delivery platforms including web, native apps, Apple TV, Roku, and Fire TV.

  • Strong understanding of software best-practices as it applies to web application development,
  • Experience with web and server based technologies with a combination of the following: Node, npm, HTML, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, ASP.Net MVC, IIS, REST, XML, JSON, SQL,
  • Object-oriented programming ability (such as C#, C++, or Java),
  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies (SCRUM),
  • Understanding of service-oriented architectures,
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment,
  • A self-starter that is able to collaborate actively with others in a cross-functional team or work independently,
  • Experience in any of the following is a plus:
  • HTML5 video players and frameworks,
  • Video packaging and transport protocols such as HLS,
  • Video/audio codecs and transcoding,
  • OVP's such as Brightcove, Ooyala, The Platform, or Kaltura
  • .Net Core and ASP.Net Core,
  • Experience with cloud computing via AWS or another cloud provider,
  • iOS and/or Android native app development,
  • Adobe Flash,
  • Angular, React or other single page framework,
