The Grocer, Brexit Reporter
Deal or no deal, Brexit is set to have a huge impact on the £200bn grocery trade. So The Grocer has created a new position for a talented, bright and ambitious reporter to help us break major stories about trade with Europe and the rest of the world.
Amid heightened political tension, covering supply chains for imports and exports will form a key part of the role, but it’s also about understanding and examining the domestic opportunities and challenges for UK producers.
This is the first time we’ve ever appointed a reporter to cover trade in this way. The role will focus on meat, fish, poultry, fruit & veg, dairy, and other food-based ingredients and commodities, like tea, coffee, sugar etc.
The Grocer prides itself on breaking news and helping its readers to make sense of a complex and fast-changing world, and has won countless awards for its campaigning and investigative approach.
So tell us what you can offer and what you’re interested in and we’ll try to match your skills with our needs. This role will encompass a range of different responsibilities, but it starts with great journalism, landing exclusive news stories, writing in depth analysis, features, reports, profiles, blogs and video/audio content, across a range of topics.
What we’re looking for:
- A demonstrable nose for news
- The ability to study and understand the significance of government policy
- Ambition and the desire to succeed and progress
- Ability to engage, network and exert valuable information and insight from senior level contacts
- Multimedia skills
