The Wall Street Journal, Editor - Europe Energy
The Wall Street Journal is looking for a seasoned editor or senior reporter to take on the role of Energy Editor for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
This chief will lead a team of reporters covering a broad range of energy- and mining-related topics. That includes some of the world’s biggest oil and mining firms, like Shell, BP and Glencore, as well as key state actors like Saudi Aramco and Russia’s Rosneft. OPEC coverage is core for the group.
We need someone with a track record of driving the widest range of storytelling, including new, digital-first story formats.
We want scoops, investigative projects, news analysis and long-form journalism that reveals and analyzes with the broadest sweep the key players and pressures shaping these businesses.
The job requires global cooperation in the extreme, working with energy- and mining-focused editors and reporters across Europe, in the U.S., the Mideast, Africa, Latin America and Asia.
While the focus of the group is on our core corporate coverage, this chief will need a highly ecumenical approach since the group also works extensively with reporters and editors from the Journal’s markets and world parishes.
