Deputy Editor, Construction Week - Dubai
Following an internal promotion, Construction Week, the leading weekly business magazine and website for the construction industry in the GCC, is looking for a talented deputy editor.
As well as deputising for the editor in her absence, helping with team management and taking the lead on key editorial projects, the deputy editor will also plan and write news and features for online and print, subedit pages and produce newsletters.
The deputy editor will be expected to arrange and conduct face-to-face interviews with key industry figures, and represent the Construction Week brand at press conferences and other events.
The ideal candidate will be a native English speaker, have demonstrable experience in B2B journalism and demonstrate a natural talent for writing. The successful applicant will also be able to demonstrate creativity, accuracy and sound commercial/political awareness.
Video shooting and editing skills are highly desirable.
We are looking for someone hardworking and ambitious, with an ability to communicate a wide range of business and technical information in an accessible and engaging format. The ideal candidate is an individual who has an eye for detail and a relentless ability to hit deadlines.
The role would suit someone working at a senior reporter or features writer level, who is keen to develop their career, gain some line management experience, and work on a market leading B2B publication.
The candidate should have a degree-level education from a reputable university. Appropriate journalism qualifications are also desirable.
Regional travel will be required, so adaptability, patience and an open-minded approach to other cultures are essential.
The role is permanent, full-time and based in the tax-free coastal city of Dubai.
