About the Role:

You will report to the Senior Manager, Design System, and will work with a cross-disciplinary team in UX and technology. As a member of the Design System team, you will be a voice and advocate for users of our website and apps, learning about their goals, desires and preferences.

You will learn from (and work alongside) the design system team, accessibility engineers, and user experience architects/designers/researchers to guide beautiful and coherent experiences into code. Ultimately, you will be helping shape the future of how we deliver information to our customers.

This role is hybrid, based in either our Princeton, NJ or New York City office.

You Will:

• Help the Design System team define new shared components for The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, MarketWatch, Mansion Global, Factiva, and News Plus
• Learn from a multidisciplinary team including Product, UX Research, Editorial and Engineering
• Focus on and take ownership of a project or initiative that spans the duration of the internship
• Implement design direction within the DJ design language system
• Communicate across a multidisciplinary team throughout each phase of a project
• Help develop new approaches to complex design problems
• Stay informed with design system trends, tools, and technologies, and proactively pursue knowledge for professional development

You Have:

• Familiarity with digital product design best practices, usability, accessibility, and procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace
• A passion for identifying and solving problems
• Curiosity and are engaged
• Interest in experience design, information hierarchy, user flow and typography principles

NYC Pay Range: $21.00/hour - $21.00/hour
