Description

Immediate is the special interest content and platform company. Our fast-growing, multi-platform media business is home to over 1,000 people across eight divisions. We own and operate some of the best-loved brands in the UK including Radio Times, BBC Good Food, BBC Gardeners’ World and Top Gear to name a few. And we only focus on special interest markets, engaging over 75million global passionate consumers each month, offering them world-class content and innovative new products and services. Immediate was named the UK’s Best Place to Work by Glassdoor in 2022.

About the role

We’re looking for a Digital Writer with sharp SEO skills and a keen eye for detail to join our eCommerce team and create detailed buyer’s guides, deals pages, and cover the latest consumer news on RadioTimes.com.

You’ll sit within the central Commerce team and report to the Senior Content Strategy Executive while working closely with the brand’s genre editors. Through a combination of thorough research and reviewing, you’ll be part of a team recommending which streaming services, live entertainment and technology readers should be buying in SEO-optimised ‘best’ lists.

You’ll also help write and optimise other content types, across genres such as Going Out and Technology, including but not limited to advertorials, how-to explainers and streaming guides.

This is a fast-paced role and we’re looking for someone who is highly organised and able to follow consistent style guidelines to turn around SEO-optimised, trends-led articles quickly.

You’ll get training and experience to hone your skills in writing, and affiliate marketing, and the opportunity to build your career as a journalist working for some of the best-loved brands in the UK.

As a Digital Writer you will;

  • Use your research to maintain evergreen “best buy” lists, optimising your content to make sure it ranks highly in Google for keywords with purchase intent
  • Write new and optimising existing content with purchase intent across all verticals of the website
  • Research and review consumer topics including gifts, live entertainment, merchandise and technology
  • Write advertorials for our partners
  • Keep an ear to the ground about the latest news and product releases from key brands in your sector to be able to turn around reactive, trends-led content quickly
  • Build relationships with PRs
  • Provide copy for newsletters

Requirements

  • A good understanding of the best and most popular brands on the market in the entertainment and technology sectors
  • A keen interest in technology, live entertainment and/or sport and experience working in a relevant business/industry sector
  • A background in writing product recommendations or reviewing
  • A good understanding of SEO and the role it plays in acquiring new readers for online publishers
  • A methodical approach to tasks, able to follow checklists and deliver against consistent brand style guidelines
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A excellent eye for detail and accuracy, especially when crafting copy with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams
  • CMS experience
  • Experience creating or writing newsletters

Benefits

  • A relaxed working environment with regular socials including a summer festival
  • Immediate Community webinars, well-being initiatives and Mental Health First aiders
  • 25 days holiday plus a day for your birthday. Our offices will be closed between Christmas and New Year’s which are in addition to your annual entitlement
  • Tailored training and development through our Love Learning platform
  • A progressive and transparent culture with clear career progression
  • Flexible / hybrid working plus early finish Fridays
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Enhanced Family Policies including paternity, adoption and surrogacy leave. We also provide a pregnancy loss, fertility, and carers policy
  • Competitive pension plans and Life Assurance
  • A newly renovated modern office with lots of collaborative spaces
