Senior Consumer Affairs Writer - Good Housekeeping

LONDON, United Kingdom

JOB DESCRIPTION

Good Housekeeping, the UK’s biggest-selling lifestyle title, is looking for an experienced Senior Consumer Affairs Writer to help produce compelling money and consumer content in print and online for GH and its sister titles, Red and Prima.

In this role, you’ll research and write articles on a wide range of consumer rights and personal finance topics, from the best ways to complain effectively and how to protect yourself from scams to writing a financial plan and tackling emotional spending. You’ll have a proven track record of spotting a great story, tapping into trends and asking the right questions to present our savvy readers with the facts they need to make smart decisions about what they buy and how they make their finances work for them.

If you’re keen to make your editorial mark in a team that has a strong commitment to supporting your personal development and pursuing your passions, this is a great opportunity.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Senior Consumer Affairs Writer, you’ll contribute ideas for articles that explore the consumer affairs and personal finance issues close to the hearts of our readers and you’ll use your research and writing skills to turn these ideas into articles that engage, inform and empower. Working closely with the Consumer Affairs Directors, you’ll help plan the content of our fortnightly Financially Fabulous newsletter and contribute content to our other GH newsletters. You’ll write features for print and news stories for the web, adapting the tone and pitch of your writing accordingly.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an organised, self-motivated and details-focused journalist with an eye for a great story, a commitment to rigorous research and experience of writing for both print and digital audiences. Experience of writing about consumer affairs and/or personal finance are a must. Knowledge of writing with SEO in mind and using Google Analytics to monitor the performance of online stories is a plus, but not essential.
