The National, the leading Middle East news organisation, is looking to hire a Social Media Journalist to be based in our bureau in Washington DC.
Candidates should be social media natives with a passion for creative and innovative storytelling, demonstrate a deep interest in news and current affairs, have an excellent understanding of social audiences, social media trends and analytics, and how data informs our strategy.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of two years’ newsroom experience. Requirements include:
- Experience with CMS, social publishing tools and social content creation, essential Strong editorial judgement, copywriting and SEO writing skills essential.
- Ability to understand and use social analytics to inform strategy.
- Adaptable, resilient and able to work across multiple teams based in locations across the world Creativity and the initiative to respond effectively to an ever-changing news agenda and workload.
- Experience managing social media accounts for publishers and established brands is highly desirable Willingness to work shifts, some weekends and some public holidays when required.
