Job Description:
Write editorials on European economic and political affairs that reflect the Journal editorial page's free market philosophy and that are tailored for the global audience of the Journal's print edition and website. In coordination with editors in New York, select topics for editorials, develop arguments, and write persuasive opinion articles. Particular emphasis is placed on relevance to an audience beyond Europe. Participate in editorial board meetings, as well as videos, podcasts and other platforms of the opinion section. Coordinate with editors in other locations as required to bolster the Journal's global opinion coverage.
Requirements:
- College graduate with at least 8+ years reporting and writing experience, preferably with an emphasis on political and economic content.
- It is essential that candidates be familiar with the ideas, philosophy and principles for which the Wall Street Journal editorial page stands.
- Flexible to do weekend/evening work as required.
