Job Description:

The Wall Street Journal is looking for an YouTube Community Coordinator to join its global video team. You will assist with the core operations of the WSJ YouTube video network, spanning multiple channels. You should have a strong familiarity with YouTube best practices and a track record of working on successful social video programs. We are looking for someone who is excited about extending our world-class journalism into new video formats. You will juggle many tasks and collaborate across the Journal's video team and newsroom.

The position will be based in New York and report to the Executive Director of Video Strategy.

You will:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the WSJ YouTube network.
  • Work on core channel functionality, including new video uploading, optimization and tagging.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize library videos.
  • Create key YouTube assets, including headlines, descriptions and custom thumbnails.
  • Write and publish YouTube community posts and comments in conjunction with WSJ journalists and channel hosts.
  • Work with WSJ video operations team to run live-streaming events when relevant.
  • Promote YouTube channels by cross-posting videos and working with the Dow Jones marketing team.
  • Ensure that all journalistic and legal standards are followed.
  • Be able to work late hours and weekends both as part of a regular weekend rotation and as news developments may warrant.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.


You have:

 

  • At least one year of experience working with social video platforms in a professional setting.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Deep understanding and interest in The Journal's core coverage areas.
  • Strong editorial judgment and broad knowledge of current events.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic understanding of Adobe Suite, especially Premiere and Photoshop.
  • Experience using Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, especially Sheets, Excel or a similar spreadsheet program.
  • Familiarity with optimization tools including Tubular and VidIQ
  • YouTube certification preferred
