The role:

  • To grow social audience volume and engagement to increase traffic referral to O&O channels
  • To keep the brand fresh and relevant on both existing and new social media platforms
  • Work with the sales team to successfully deliver social media activation for commercial partnerships
  • Stay ahead on social media platforms development to adapt Netmums output as well as shape strategies for new platforms EG Tik Tok and/or optimizing for evolving algorithms

Your experience:

  • An expert understanding of both the UK parenting audience and a proven track record in delivering a successful social media content strategy for a large-scale digital media brand 
  • Ability to deliver content from idea to publish and understand analytics to optimize content and grow audience engagement/referral
  • Excellent understanding of all social platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent working relationship with commercial sales teams and the ability to deliver client/commercial campaign content and KPIs for social activations
  • Understanding of digital content across other channels (e.g. SEO, newsletter, video) and how to create a holistic social content strategy

Key responsibilities:

  • Define, manage and implement organic social strategies for Netmums’ social platforms
  • Create shareable content (news, images and video) for use across all social platforms
  • Evolve the social content strategy to optimise traffic referral
  • Analyse referral traffic and report on performance to editorial teams
  • Feed into the creative editorial process to ensure that social media is a consideration in what is published on site
  • Work with all content team and sales team to deliver successful social campaigns
  • Manage social editorial calendar for key dates and ensure these are reflected across social platforms
  • Identify new ways the brand can build and be more present on social media with new opportunities on platforms
  • Scope content strategy for new social platforms, featuring video, animation, etc.  e.g. Tik Tok

Skills needed:

  • Successful experience of working in social media, preferably within a digital consumer publishing
  • A thorough understanding of platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and Tik Tok
  • In-depth knowledge of parenting and a positive creative attitude – a passion for social media
  • Ability to deliver highly engaging social content that plays for all NM content verticals and ensure NM tone and voice is always adhered to – excellent writing skills AND excellent image skills (Photoshop etc)
  • Ability to create social-ready assets using the right publishing tools
  • Ability to research and present actionable data using analytic tools e.g. Facebook Insights, Tailwind, Crowdtangle, Sprout etc
  • Creative mindset, able to innovate, learn from competitors
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Analytical thinker who can test and learn to improve best practice
  • Good community management track-record, attract and retain social audiences as well as drive traffic to NM site
  • Able to work successfully on commercial campaigns to deliver client KPIs (able to write briefs for commercial campaigns)
  • Understanding on the importance of copyright control
  • The ability to validate your strategy through audience and social listening data and present justifications to teams with confidence
