Position Description: We are looking for a Digital Communications Manager to join our team. The Digital Communications Manager is a new role within Nadia’s Initiative (NI), founded by 2018 Nobel Peace Laureate Nadia Murad, who is now President of the Board of Directors. The Digital Communications Manager will join a small, hard-working group of team members committed to the mission of NI. The Digital Communications Manager will work closely with NI’s team to uplift communications around its programs on all social media channels, craft NI’s organizational voice, and strengthen its brand. This is a position best suited for a social media professional with creativity, top notch writing skills, a detail orientation, and a positive attitude, who is passionate about women’s rights, international development, and the importance of rebuilding communities in crisis and advocating for survivors of sexual violence.

Job Functions:

  • Create content for NI’s social media channels, including video and graphic design
  • Manage NI’s social media platforms, including drafting and scheduling posts
  • Analyze NI’s social media performance and outline recommendations to improve performance
  • Contribute to and carry out NI’s communications strategy, particularly as it related to NI’s programmatic work
  • Hold NI’s brand cohesiveness across its platforms and efforts, and liaise with the team members to create a unified voice and brand for the organization
  • Manage Digital Communications Associate
  • Serve as thought partner/editor on other communications-related tasks, as requested

Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of full-time professional experience in communications, nonprofit sector preferred
  • Experience in social media management and content creation required
  • Strong writing and editing skills with native-level English writing proficiency required
  • Understanding of international development, human rights, and advocacy required
  • Fluency with video and graphic creation required
  • Current knowledge of trends and analytics in social media required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong eye for design
  • Proactive work style that can take ownership and work independently, while also communicating clearly with the team
  • Flexible work style with the ability to work under tight deadlines
