Editorial Director (Ecommerce) - Digital Editorial Hub
LONDON, United Kingdom

JOB DESCRIPTION

At Hearst UK, there’s always more to the story. Join us as our Editorial Director (Ecommerce) to start the next chapter in your career. We’re the UK’s leading premium publisher, and the people behind iconic media brands such as Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Country Living.

We’ve created a working environment that encourages everyone to pull together. We never stop looking for brave new ideas. We’ll always try to develop and improve, we trust each other to do our best, and we have fun as we build on our heritage to make history.

The Digital Editorial Hub is the central digital department, where Ecommerce stands alongside SEO, video, social, content partnerships and design, all collaborating with our brand teams to direct and support their efforts across all platforms.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will lead and develop the editorial ecommerce strategy across the Hearst UK network, creating compelling, best-in-class shopping content for a wide variety of brands with highly engaged and diverse readerships, from Cosmopolitan to Good Housekeeping, Esquire to Runner’s World.

Managing the central Ecommerce editorial content team across homes, beauty, fashion, wellness and consumer technology verticals, you will work in collaboration with the affiliates team, as well as brand and Hearst Institute content teams, to refine and innovate content creation, optimisation and distribution workflows and processes.

You will be a central figurehead for, and driving force of, ecommerce within the business, ensuring that our editorial teams feel supported and equipped with actionable insights, so all teams are empowered to grow organic affiliate revenues.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a highly organised strategic thinker, clear communicator and strong collaborator who has hands-on experience of leading a team, as well as proven success in outlining and implementing cross-platform ecommerce strategies.

You will be a data-led digital expert, with a firm command of SEO best practice and analytics tools, and an experienced editor with a strong grasp of multiple styles and tones who is used to working creatively with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.

You will be an enthusiastic follower of ecommerce trends and innovations across multiple verticals and platforms, with a strong knowledge of Hearst’s brands and their readers’ shopping habits.

WHAT WE OFFER

At Hearst UK, you can choose from a huge range of perks and benefits that can help you learn well, work well and live well including:

  • 25 days’ holiday (with the option to buy up to 5 additional holiday days) – pro rated for part-time or fixed-term employees
  • Hybrid working – Two days per week in the office
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Spend a charity day with your favourite good cause
