Job Description:

OPIS Regional Editorial Leads - REL (Director level and above) hold accountability for all operational aspects of the editorial team in each region - such as resourcing, performance management, product strategy execution and prioritization, day-to-day functional operations including compliance, technology implementation, scheduling, quality control/authorizations, filing and publishing.

The REL will be responsible for implementing programmes, development initiatives and tasks in each region to achieve the strategic objectives of the organization. As the primary resource owner and co-ordinator, the Regional Leads will be instrumental in developing Editorial-led planning and delivery of strategic objectives around:

Regional Editorial Leads will also be the main link in co-ordinating editorial resources for cross-functional initiatives on New Product Development (NPD), Customer Engagement + Analytics, Marketing Content and Go-to-Market initiatives - together with IT, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.

Key Responsibility Areas -
1) Operational Readiness - ensure delivery of services and products through planning, day-to-day decision making, approvals and authorizations, proper scheduling and resource planning. The REL will co-ordinate with editorial managers to ensure the smooth delivery of products, maintain business continuity and identify potential operational risks, including data submissions, technical issues, resourcing, training and source management. The REL will set the right culture of accountability to ensure operational readiness and communicate effectively to ensure editorial teams are aware and able to carry out their duties. 2) Process and Quality Control - RELs are responsible for the team's adherence adherence to OPIS control, policy and process frameworks to ensure quality, compliance, efficiency and accountability. The RELs will work with stakeholders like customer operations, IT/PD&D and compliance officers and to ensure adherence and compliance. RELs should also work with stakeholders to improve and update policies, procedures and develop systems to improve operational efficiency, timeliness of delivery and minimize potential for mistakes. RELs are also responsible for team budgets - specifically on Travel and Expenses, staffing and rewards/compensation. 3) Performance Management - RELs are focused on driving the motivation and performance of the teams, providing direction, strategic inputs, identity and a shared sense of purpose amongst the team. Both as a team and individual performance management RELs are expected to build a culture of performance aligned with company values through empowerment of their team leaders/managers, appropriate and timely recognition/rewards, accountability and delivery. RELs are expected to actively engage the teams, using varied communication and engagement platforms to ensure team members have feedback and direction regarding their performance. As and when necessary, RELs should focus on career development discussions as part of their performance management function and ensure the best fit for talent. 4) Growth + Business Development- Regional leads are expected to provide the appropriate level of support to enable business growth, which includes enabling editorial engagement with customers, ensure editorial contributions in product and customer feedback, identifying business development opportunities and getting the appropriate level of support, providing marketing content support, joint Sales / Editorial customer engagement, developing new products. 5) Training, Talent Development - Ensure existing editorial resources are prepared to deliver on organizational needs and operational resilience. The REL is responsible to creating a culture of constant improvement (Kaizen) through building awareness and transparency in order to identify actions and areas for continuous improvement. The RELs should identify external and internal opportunities/resources for teams to chart their own development as part of their career development in line with business objectives.
Requirements

Knowledge/Experience Preferred:

  • Demonstrable experience (3 years or more) in leading diverse editorial teams, including mid-level managers
  • Price reporting experience - specifically commodities and energy markets
  • Working Knowledge of IOSCO PRA Principles, managing related processes and policies
  • Experience working with auditors to provide external assurance reporting
  • Demonstrable experience in stakeholder engagement and customer focus activities
  • Editorial background with experience content development
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism/Economics/Business preferred
  • Ability to travel occasionally is preferred
