The Vacancy:

As our business reporter, you’ll be writing business, finance and economics stories for the PA news wire and digital subscribers. 

What you’ll be doing:

The role involves responding to breaking news, covering the daily news agenda, generating ideas for analysis pieces and interviewing people across the business world. 

You will be required to provide confident reporting across a variety of business sectors, including banking, retail, housebuilding, oil and energy. 

Who you’ll be:

We want to make sure you’re set for success so the key skills we’re looking for in the role are below:

• Ability to write clear, accurate and concise copy to tight deadlines
• Previous experience as a journalist, ideally working in business and finance
• Experience of getting exclusives through great contacts
• Ability to make strong use of social media for monitoring the business news agenda, and promoting PA content when required 
• Journalism training with the NCTJ or equivalent
• Shorthand skills (100wpm)
• Excellent knowledge of the laws relevant to journalism
