Job Description:
The Wall Street Journal is looking for a savvy, experienced editor to be the deputy section editor for our Future of Everything editions.
You will help conceive of, assign and edit stories that explore the full range of topics the Journal covers, but from the unique perspective of the Future of Everything.
Working with the FOE editor, you will help guide coverage that looks beyond the news of the day to focus on the challenges ahead for industry, the economy and society. You will work with staff writers, freelancers and our visuals team to craft and package stories, and you will produce the content for web and print using our content management system.
This job requires strong organizational skills, the ability to make feature copy sparkle, and a polymath's fascination for subjects from technology to finance to science and more.
You have:
- Five-plus years of experience editing features and news
- A strong visual sense
- Knowledge of our content management systems
- A firm hand to help steer efficient workflows
You will be based in our New York City office. You will report to the editorial director of The Future of Everything.
To apply, please submit a resume and a cover letter explaining how your experience, skills and interests align with the requirements of the role.
