About the Team

Tech B2B includes Tech Radar Pro, IT Pro Portal, and IT Pro. The wider B2B division includes Smartbrief, AV Tech, M&E, and Tech & Learning and works as a global team with a focus on high-value audience for our brands.

Job Purpose

As Editor (US), you will be responsible for four main areas:

  1. Managing (working in conjunction with other senior managers, stakeholders and internal and external writers) the daily news output, including working with writers on pitches and editing/optimising content
  2. Managing (working in conjunction with other senior managers, stakeholders and internal and external writers) the regular longer-form content output, including working with writers on pitches and editing/optimising content, with a view to growing global audience levels and, in turn, ecommerce revenue
  3. Working with all stakeholders to ensure all content has maximum effect and reach, whether through SEO, direct traffic or other distribution channels, such as newsletters, social and more
  4. Assisting with other tasks as requested by your line manager/key stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

Development of IT Pro’s editorial US strategy

Use knowledge of tech industry, strategy and competition/industry to continuously create exciting and engaging content across multiple platforms and distribution channels, feeding the need to grow our global audience through a US-centric lens, but being able to pitch in with UK/European strategy where appropriate

Development of staff

  • Ensure the brand position and editorial voice for US-focused content remains key - and, in particular, in line with Future’s ESG around fake news and misinformation
  • Work with management, tech, development and audience teams to develop the most compelling content opportunities for IT Pro/B2B
  • Assist the senior editorial team in developing a successful B2B content portfolio

Commercial partnerships

  • Support the effective creation and delivery of commercial partnerships through high-trafficked news and other content
  • Assist key stakeholders with reactive and proactive ideas generation that is to the benefit of our audience and commercial partners

Development of group editorial strategy

  • Use knowledge of tech industry, strategy and competition to help develop a portfolio sell for both audience and commercial


  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Fantastic communication skills
  • The ability to lead by example and plan and execute content strategy
  • Help maintain and develop high performing individual writers and news teams
  • Communicate effectively with writers and senior management
  • Inspire colleagues and demonstrate a clear vision for success
  • Work collaboratively with the team and other stakeholders/brands to build and maintain a successful B2B division
