Newsweek is looking to recruit an enthusiastic full-time Video Producer to join our growing video team in the UK. This role is currently functioning remotely. 

 

If you want to join our team, you are proficient in understanding news (especially politics), love editing digital videos and are familiar with all aspects of production, from finding stories and writing scripts to editing footage and creating short, comprehensive videos that will be used across Newsweek.com and live on our social media channels.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Produce, write, and edit several compelling digital news videos per day for stories on our website using Adobe Premiere and After Effects

     

    React to breaking/trending news stories as and when they happen

     

    Work with reporters and editors across different editorial groups to provide news coverage

     

    Manage multiple editing schedules and projects of complexity and work successfully under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations

     

    Work closely with the Deputy Video Manager and other producers to help promote video work online through our YouTube account and social media

     

    Pitch new video ideas that serve as evergreen content

     

Required Qualifications

 

  • Demonstrated creative storytelling and technical skills, passion for journalism and professional judgment 

     

    At least 1 year of professional experience as a video editor and/or producer for digital or TV news, entertainment or public affairs outlet 

     

    Proficient using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, etc.)

     

    Awareness of video and editorial content management systems and skilled with professional video and DSLR cameras

     

    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in an ever-changing environment

     

    Must be able to work in a team environment and work well with others

     

    Must be able to multitask and work collaboratively with editorial and technical teams across platforms and editorial and business disciplines

     

    Self starter and eagerness to contribute new ideas

     

    Must be able to work flexible hours including early morning, nights or weekends, if requested

     

    A plus: motion graphics experience
