Job Description:

MarketWatch seeks a deputy commerce editor for its new MarketWatch Picks section, which helps readers make smarter decisions about how to spend, save and manage their money. This editor will help develop new strategies around service journalism across a wide range of purchases big and small, in keeping with our larger mission to level the playing field in all financial transactions.

The ideal candidate will have experience reporting and editing in the financial services space, and be passionate about breaking down sometimes complicated topics in a way that will engage our audience and help them choose the purchases that best fit their needs and budgets. The editor will oversee buying and how-to guides, reviews of financial products and services, Q&As, and more, all so that readers can make informed decisions with their money. The editor will play an integral role in shaping the new section.

Skills & Requirements

At least three years of experience reporting and editing, some of which was in the financial services space.

Adept at working across a wide range of teams within and outside Dow Jones, including freelance writers and new content partners.

Ability to analyze and act on data and analytics both in terms of reader engagement and sales.

Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
