Job Description:

The Wall Street Journal Washington Bureau is looking for an editor to drive our coverage of U.S. economic policy. This includes primary responsibility for topics such as taxes, the federal budget, the federal debt limit, pandemic aid programs, financial regulation, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. You will also help other economics editors handling coverage of U.S. monetary policy and macroeconomic news and trends. It involves collaboration with WSJ colleagues around the world covering global economic policy, including the U.S. roles in groups like the G20 and G-7.

You should have at least five years of experience reporting/editing economics stories for a major news organization. You should know policy, be skilled conceptualizing ambitious enterprise stories, work well with others, enjoy helping reporters grow and have a fast metabolism. In other words, you should be able to turn around breaking news at digital speed as well as help craft the deeply reported, memorable, revelatory stories that distinguish The Wall Street Journal's best work.
