JOB DESCRIPTION

At Hearst UK, there’s always more to the story. Join us as our Senior Consumer Writer to start the next chapter in your career.

We’re the UK’s leading premium publisher, and the people behind iconic media brands such as Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Country Living. The working environment we have created encourages everyone to pull together. We never stop looking for brave new ideas, we always try to develop and improve, and we trust each other to do our best. We have fun as we build on our heritage to make history.

As Senior Consumer Writer, you will be a key part of our Consumer Affairs team, producing compelling content to inform and empower readers of the brands in our Lifestyle hub: Good Housekeeping, Red and Prima. We are a supportive, tight-knit team, with a commitment to reporting on topical consumer issues and trends, asking the right questions and presenting readers with the facts they need to make smart decisions about what they buy, how they live and how they make their finances work for them.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Working closely with the Consumer Affairs Directors, you’ll be responsible for generating ideas for topical, relevant money, consumer and household advice content for Good Housekeeping’s print and digital channels, and turning these ideas into engaging and accessible articles and features. Your role will also involve reworking money content in fresh, brand-appropriate ways for Red and Prima in print. You’ll also write and edit articles for the Good Housekeeping website and manage the flow of new content. A key part of your role will be planning and managing the content of our GHI and Financially Fabulous newsletters and building these digital publications.

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an organised, self-motivated and details-focused journalist with an eye for a great story, a commitment to rigorous research and some experience of writing for both print and digital audiences. You should have a keen interest in the areas of consumer affairs and personal finance. Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics would be an advantage.

WHAT WE OFFER

At Hearst UK, you can choose from a huge range of perks and benefits that can help you learn well, work well and live well including:

  • 25 days’ holiday (with the option to buy up to 5 additional holiday days)
  • Flexible working – we’re happy to discuss options!
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Spend a charity day with your favourite good cause
  • Life assurance and pension scheme
  • Regular socials and more!

There’s more to your story than you imagine. And the next chapter begins right here.
