Your opportunity to transform a mainly print journal into a dynamic, interactive digital publication for a specialist healthcare audience across the world

The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA) is a not-for-profit association with stunning offices near Canary Wharf in London.

With a strong membership in over 60 countries, drawn from the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory agencies and support services, we support regulatory professionals to deliver better, safer healthcare for patients. TOPRA offers an extensive range of regulatory affairs education and professional development, both for members and the wider regulatory community, in human medicines, vaccines, diagnostics, medical devices and veterinary sectors.

Key accountabilities:

  • Take the lead on the editorial production and development of TOPRA’s flagship peer-reviewed publication, Regulatory Rapporteur
  • Oversee the digital transformation of the journal into an online publication that is best in its class
  • Manage and deliver the Regulatory Rapporteur to a high quality, in a timely and effective way within the current workflow system, eg print option, while implementing processes to support the digital journal
  • Work collaboratively with an external Editorial Board, other TOPRA stakeholders and colleagues in the office team
  • Become a source of regulatory intelligence for the organisation and the Comms Team, offering insights, acting as an advisor or mentor as appropriate
  • Support TOPRA’s commitment to ensuring diversity & inclusion, particularly in relation to editorial contributions, content and imagery used.

You will:

  • Have a proven track record of effective editorial leadership on a professional, technical publication
  • Be highly adaptable, innovative and eager to explore new editorial possibilities
  • Provide creative and imaginative input while ensuring attention to detail and quality focus
  • Have experience of Adobe Creative Cloud and use of multimedia platforms
  • Be commercially aware and have an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Be educated to degree level and/or equivalent qualifications
  • Have an analytical outlook with a systematic approach to work and managing tight deadlines.

This is a full-time post and would be suitable for someone established in their editorial career who can demonstrate successful delivery of digital publications or journals and their supporting content. You are likely to have been an Editor or Deputy Editor on a professional, technical or scientific journal.

If you are committed to personal development and can work in a mainly office environment, we will offer you the chance to develop with our Comms team to broaden your versatility and skills. TOPRA offers a competitive salary, pension and life insurance package, plus a diverse team of dedicated and friendly colleagues working to further excellence in healthcare regulatory affairs with a European focus.

Please apply with your CV and covering letter. The closing date for applications will be 31 August, however we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if a suitable candidate is found.
