Job Details

Company: PAM Insight Ltd, 107 Cheapside, London, EC4V 6DN

Experience: Ideally several years’ experience, or more, writing about the financial/professional services sectors.

Remuneration: Dependent on experience £200 to £250 per 1000 words.

Background: PAM Insight Ltd is a specialist publishing and events business, focused on the private wealth management sector. The business produces news, analysis and commentary via three daily web-based subscription news services. PAM also hosts circa 50 annual events for the constituents that make up the advisory community serving high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and families.

Typically, these advisers are either private asset managers (i.e. private bankers and private client investment managers), or other advisory professionals (i.e. private client and family lawyers, tax accountants, trustees, fee-based IFAs, multi-family offices and so on).

The business is 24 years old and based in the City of London, near Bank and Monument tube stations. The editorial team is eight strong, with five devoted to thewealthnet, three focused on eprivateclient and two on fundeye. PAM Insight also publishes PAM (Private Asset Managers) and produces the PAM Awards, perhaps the best-known brands within the portfolio and from which the company’s corporate identity is derived, as well as the eprivateclient Excellence Awards.

Successful Applicant: We are looking for a pro-active, hard working and skilled journalist to work across both thewealthnet and eprivateclient to provide maternity cover for an existing team member.

You need to have experience covering – and a good understanding of at least one or two of – banking, investment, global economic issues, regulation and tax.

Key tasks will include:

  • Interviewing senior wealth management figures – i.e. CEOs, COOs, CIOs, heads of private clients, as well as leading nextgen advisers, etc.;
  • Writing features on the latest trends and developments, views from the sector on key topics, etc.;
  • Possibly, attending industry events alongside the editors, as and when necessary.

Next Step. Applications are to include a CV and short covering letter. These should be emailed to thewealthnet’s editor Alex Newlove  with the subject line ‘Job application’.

First interviews will be conducted with the relevant editors. Second interviews will include a task-driven exercise, which will enable us to assess your journalistic skills, your level of initiative and your interest in our sector.
