As a result of growth in membership of the Risk Leadership Network – an international B2B corporate membership network for risk leaders and their teams – we are recruiting for a UK-based senior content writer.

We are looking for someone who is creative; who wants to take the next step in their editorial or communications career; and who is keen to join an organisation that is disrupting the status quo. We’re changing the way risk leaders network and collaborate, and our new senior content writer will help lead the editorial efforts of the business.

This is a role ideally suited to someone with one to two years of B2B media, corporate communication, journalism or research experience.

This role will take ownership of different content projects to research and produce compelling content pieces and tools.

This is an opportunity to shape, enhance and make your mark on a portfolio of content offerings, including practical case studies, collaborative tools, benchmarking reports, meeting summaries, and short-form blog posts.

The role reports to the content manager, and is responsible for the creation of content across all platforms including virtual meetings, intelligence, benchmarking, private messaging and the member portal.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

INTELLIGENCE PLATFORM

Risk Leadership Network’s Intelligence platform is a searchable database of peer-contributed case studies, tools and templates. Content is developed from interviews with members, current and former senior risk managers and subject matter experts from around the world.

The senior content writer will be required to:

  • Work closely with Risk Leadership Network’s content manager and team of network managers to enhance the interview and content pipeline.
  • Interview members and other subject matter experts and personally produce Intelligence articles.
  • Take a lead role in managing the Intelligence content taxonomy, tagging rules, interface, including uploading content to the Intelligence platform.
  • Produce content in line with house-style.
  • Take ownership of certain content tools, regularly updating them as and when we get new data and identifying opportunities to enhance their functionality. The content producer will update the data sets behind these tools as well as produce analysis from them.
  • Pitch, generate and execute ideas for Intelligence case studies, tools and templates, working closely with the content manager on the production of benchmarking reports.

VIRTUAL MEETINGS

Risk Leadership Network’s programme of virtual meetings brings together small cohorts of risk manager peers to collectively share insights and brainstorm new ideas and solutions to commonly-shared challenges. Key elements of output from these meetings are captured by the content team in compelling, engaging ways.

The senior content writer will be required to:

  • Work closely with the content manager to inform and incorporate output from virtual meetings into the wider content mix (Intelligence, member portal, blog etc). This is likely to include diagrams, flowcharts and other visuals as well as copy.
  • Spot content opportunities to complement virtual meeting series. Ideas will come from the meetings themselves as well as research interviews.

PRIVATE MESSAGING, MEMBER PORTAL, BLOGS

Risk Leadership Network’s Member Portal is a ‘one-stop shop’ which provides members with access to all member-only service offerings, including virtual meetings, Intelligence platform, private messaging, and Network Assistance.

Risk Leadership Network’s private messaging app provides members with on-demand access to other members and subject matter experts via a secure and neutral platform. Here, members exchange knowledge, advice and resources in real time to help each other with their most pressing issues.

The senior content writer will be required to:

  • Take ownership of some elements of the Member Portal and private messaging group, creating regular posts that highlight and inform members of new content.
  • Manage and write short blog posts based on Intelligence interviews, case studies, and member meetings, with clear calls to action.
  • Play a proactive role in generating ideas to increase engagement on the Member Portal and private messaging app.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The position would suit a highly organised individual who has a proven track record in delivering and enhancing content across a range of platforms.

Using this experience, you will deliver and enhance our existing content portfolio while identifying opportunities for innovation, helping us to build a world-class membership network for risk leaders.

The position would appeal to someone who would relish being a key member of a small but growing team where their opinion matters, and who would directly contribute to the development of an ambitious independently-owned company.

The role requires outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Experience creating benchmarking tools and analysing big data is desirable but not essential.

Whilst it will be home-based probably until the end of 2021, the post holder should be permitted to work in the UK and be able to travel into a Central London hub at least one day every fortnight and potentially more frequently as required.

Candidates who would prefer to work on a flexible i.e. less than a full time basis will also be considered.

As an employee of the company, the successful candidate will benefit from a basic salary (up to £30K p.a. initially) and, importantly, the opportunity to be part of the company’s share scheme (this operates on a non-contributory basis) after a successful qualifying period.
