The Evening Standard is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Editor. This senior and strategically key role spans many exciting and expanding areas across the Evening Standard’s platforms. Reporting to the Publisher, it is based in the editorial team in London, working directly with senior executives across a wide range of business needs.

The role encompasses the conceptualisation and creation of high quality editorially-led projects with the aim of attracting major partners and investment while elevating and extending our brand.

The successful candidate will work in an agile way across our partnerships, events and newsletter divisions, devising and delivering content plans, creating pitches and presentations and generating exciting new ideas to support and evolve our growing roster of live events.

Examples of projects within the Commercial Editor’s remit include our new Stories book festival and writing competition in association with Netflix, the recently launched thought-leadership channel The Optimist, the Evening Standard Theatre Awards and our annual and highly influential power list and event, Progress 1000. A further key area is the management, growth and monetisation of our newsletter division.

The right candidate will have deep understanding and experience of working at a senior level in a multi-media organisation. They must have excellent entrepreneurial ideas and be able to demonstrate a passion for both the business and creative sides of media. Existing commercial relationships are an advantage.

Click APPLY NOW and please send an up to date CV along with a full covering letter with salary expectations.

Due to the high volume of applications we will only be contacting candidates who have been shortlisted and progressed through to the next stage.

ESI Media is an equal opportunities employer, if you require any reasonable adjustments to complete your application, please do not hesitate to advise us accordingly.
