Job Description:
The Wall Street Journal is looking for two full-time reporters to join Mansion, our luxury real estate section. You will report on the economics of real estate, focusing on high-profile transactions and property gossip. Your key responsibility will be to break news daily on high-end homes being bought and sold for our digital platforms.
You will report to Heather Halberstadt, the Journal's Mansion editor. While you will likely start the job working remotely, you will eventually be based in our New York office.

- Report, write and fact check an average of two high-end real estate deals a day
- Dig deep to identify anonymous buyers and sellers
- Scour real estate databases to seek out closings of homes that have gone unreported
- Develop close relationships with real estate agents, brokers, developers and other industry figures to garner scoops
- Identify broader economic and sociological trends
You have:
- A strong appetite to break news
- Attention to detail
- Meticulous fact-checking skills. Each story requires rigorous fact checking to ensure that the sourcing and reporting is correct and meets the Journal's reporting standards.
- The ability to write quickly and accurately
- 1 to 3 years of reporting experience
