Ipswich News Editor
We have a rare opportunity for someone to take this exciting, senior role in our Suffolk news team.
As our Ipswich News Editor, you will spearhead the coverage of our county town, ensuring we are providing brilliant content for our digital platforms and newspapers. You will be responsible for the Ipswich reporting team, and be full of innovative ideas on how we can continue our rapid audience growth. We also expect a digital champion, who has a great understanding of using data and insight tools, and real-time analytics, to determine how content is performing.
At times, we'll need you to run the entire Suffolk news operation, so you will have brilliant judgement and relish making big decisions.
This is a full-time opportunity, and will involve a combination of working in our Ipswich office and from home.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- At least 5 years' recent experience working in a newsroom
- Experience of editing copy
- Experience of creating digital content
- Experience of managing a team
- Relevant journalism related qualifications or equivalent experience
- A great understanding of digital media and analytics tools
- Attention to detail
- Deadline focused
- Able to work under pressure
