The thing that gets me up in the morning...is the opportunity to have another chance to make a lasting impact on the world.

What made me want to get into PR was...my love of writing, my ability to tell a compelling story and persuade others, and my desire to learn to speak other languages and travel the world.

If I could change one thing about the industry it would be... I would immediately begin nurturing a pipeline of talented young men and women so that our industry would represent the multi-cultural nature of American society.

My greatest inspiration is...my two children and my need for them to be proud of me.

The three things I demand in my colleagues are...integrity, excellence and honesty.

The PR figure I most admire is...Ofield Dukes.

I always thought I’d be...a civil rights attorney.

The one website I always check is...LinkedIn.

I’m a closet reader of...poetry.

You don’t want to be around me when...I am feverishly multitasking.

The most interesting fact about me is...that I graduated from high school at 16 years young.

My most prized possession is...my recent award from The National Association of Black Journalists – 2013 Pat Tobin Media Professional Award.

The finest moment in my career so far is...working so successfully with a member of The New York Times editorial board that our collaboration yielded the editorial “Seniors & Juniors.”

If I won the Mega Millions I would...open my own public relations practice and a career coach consulting practice to assist young people in achieving their career aspirations.

In five years’ time PR will be…still in vogue. Business and non-profits will still want communicators at the table to help them consistently engage the public and build advocates, through traditional and social media, who will offer their own personal opinions and talk positively about their experience with specific brands.

What I hope to achieve at the 2013 PRSA International Conference is...sharing the best practices Prudential has employed to leverage relationships with journalists and journalist associations to build trust and magnify our message about the urgent need to wisely invest and consistently save more for retirement.
