Gorkana Meets...Alice Leong
Published: Jun 05, 2014
The thing that gets me up in the morning is...looking forward to the new thing I’ll learn that day.
What made me want to get into PR was...that it served as a platform from which I could communicate the value of diversity and inclusion in improving our lives (business, personal and political) and driving innovation.
If I could change one thing about the industry it would be...that PR was represented at the early stages of business planning instead of being brought in after the fact.
My greatest inspiration is...my Grandmother who epitomizes strength, intelligence and grace no matter the situation.
The three things I demand in my colleagues... integrity, honesty, diplomacy.
The PR figure I most admire is...Sam Adams.
I always thought I’d be…a translator.
The one website I always check is... The Huffington Post.
I’m a closet reader of…historical mysteries.
You don’t want to be around me when...you’ve unfairly treated someone.
The most interesting fact about me is...I’m a competitive ballroom dancer.
My most prized possession is…a sewing tool that is the only thing I have from my Grandfather.
The finest moment in my career so far is...when I was asked to present to a United Nation’s international task force that supported diversity and inclusion.
My most embarrassing moment was...something I’ve forgotten. No point dwelling on things that can’t be changed.
If I won the Mega Millions I would...pay off my bills and take a culinary tour around the world.
In five years’ time PR will be...more influential in business strategy development.
My next vacation will be in...Singapore.
What I hoped to achieve at the 2013 PRSA International Conference...is to raise awareness of how diversity and inclusion touches everyone in every aspect of their lives and how PR can become one of its ambassadors in an organization.
